Web Design
What will you do with your 1/20th of a second?
First impressions are essential, web surfers will use as little as 1/20 th of a second to decide to stay or move on, according to Canadian researchers… "In the blink of an eye, web surfers make nearly instantaneous judgments of a web site's "visual appeal." Through the "halo effect" first impressions can color subsequent judgments of perceived credibility, usability, and ultimately influence our purchasing decisions. Creating a fast-loading, visually appealing site can help websites succeed. There clearly is interplay between our emotional reaction to a webpage, and our conscious thought process."*
The feeling you evoke to your audience through a ‘clean, professional design’ will attract and identify people to your product. You have less than a second to impress the consumer, what will you do with it?
SEO
There is always something new to read on Search Engine Optimization, and am always finding new information for my clients. I always stress there are no silver bullets out there but there are steps that I take to optimize your ranking while building your page. I will keep you abreast on what I have learned and how you personally can help get your page ranking to move up.
Print vs, Web
A print campaign should always support your web campaign. A web site is an interactive entity to a certain extent. It is never static and should be constantly changing and growing with your company. It is something that should say who you are, and therefore you should be proud of it. You don't know how many people I run across that are actually embarrassed by their web site. A poorly designed web site can tell stories about you. Remember it can be your most important marketing tool if implemented correctly, don't loose your market share due to poor design.
Your print campaign should be as sharp as your web page. It should go hand in hand. The marketing brochure, business card or flyer you send to a potential client should entice clients to your web site. Just as a web site should entice a potential client to go to your place of business or call you.
